Research programme

SIP research group has during the past couple of years been responsible for or taken active part in the following research projects

Publications have been made within all the mentioned areas. Several of the projects are on-going research independent of external funds, while others are short-term projects based on external funds (the latter is indicated with the time frame).

Future research plans

Most of the ongoing research projects mentioned above will continue in 2008, and besides the research group are involved in project applications or new research activities within the following areas:

Corporate Supplier Risk Management

International companies are increasingly challenged with incidents regarding social aspects in their supply chains. The focus in this research area is to analyse different approaches to Corporate Supplier Risk Management, and the different actors related to these issues. We concentrate on the following; how do the companies identify and handle the suppliers and sub suppliers that possess the primary risk in relation to social issues? What role does NGO’s play both as a partner and an opponent in relation to identifying and handling social issues in the supply chain. What is the role of the media in the processes? (Mette Mosgaard, Arne Remmen & Tine Herreborg Jørgensen).

Innovation of cleaner technology and environmental regulation

An evaluation of the Danish experience with cleaner technology will be made especially of to what degree these experiences have been applied in the environmental regulation of industry. Trends towards product regulations in the EU will also be covered by the evaluation (Trine Pipi Kræmer, Eskild Holm Nielsen & Arne Remmen together with DTU).
